Travian Market Bot: Buy Resource Offers Automatically

What Market offers does

Market offers reads the marketplace Buy tab in each of your villages and accepts the offers that are worth taking there. The Market offers page in the sidebar collects every village on one board.

Account-wide table of marketplace offers with ratio, gain, merchants, arrival time and seller

  • Ratio is the raw trade: how much you receive per 1 you pay.
  • Gain is what the trade is worth to that particular village. 1 is break-even.
  • Merch is how many merchants the trade needs. They are away for both legs of the trip.
  • Rows are sorted by value per merchant-hour, so the best use of a merchant is on top.

This buys from other players. Moving resources between your own villages is Supply lines, and the NPC trader is a separate gold-priced thing again.

Under 200 population you can only swap 1:1

This trips up more people than everything else on this page put together. While your account is under 200 population, or while you are still in beginner's protection, Travian itself refuses any trade that is not an exactly even swap. No bot can get around that.

The threshold is your account's total population, not one village's, so a fresh second village on an established account trades normally from day one.

  • A young account can still rebalance. Trading 900 crop a village is drowning in for the 900 clay it needs is a good move at 1:1.
  • It cannot turn a profit. Set Smallest ratio you'll accept above 1.0 and it will simply find nothing.
  • The preview says Only even swaps allowed here on every offer it had to skip for this reason, and Market health marks the village Even swaps only.

Tip: Leave the ratio at 1.0 while you are small and let the gain rule do the work, then raise it once you clear 200 population.

The same offer is good in one village and bad in another

Vangrd prices each resource by how full that village's store of it is. A resource you are nearly out of is expensive to you; one about to overflow is cheap. So a straight 900 crop for 900 clay swap is a fine trade in a village bleeding crop and a waste in one whose granary is full.

  • The dashed line separates what would be taken from what would be skipped.
  • Production nudges prices a little too, so a resource you make a lot of is priced slightly cheaper.
  • Nothing is recomputed for the page. It runs the same code the bot runs, so the preview and the actual trade always agree.

The two settings that decide most trades

Everything else is a guard rail. These two decide what gets bought.

Market rules showing the enable switch, smallest ratio, minimum gain, merchants to keep free and furthest offer

  • Smallest ratio you'll accept is a hard floor on the raw trade, before any pricing. At 1.0 you never hand over more than you get back. Raise it and only offers that are generous on their face survive, which on most servers means far fewer trades.
  • Minimum gain is how much better than break-even the trade has to be once both sides are priced by this village's stores. It ships at 10%. Raise it and Vangrd holds out for offers that genuinely fix a shortage; lower it and it takes more, smaller wins.
  • Furthest offer skips anything that would take longer to arrive than you allow. It ships at 20 minutes.
  • More options holds the rest: which resources you are willing to give and receive, how much of your warehouse to keep untouched, and Don't overfill, which drops an offer whose goods would not fit by the time they land.

Ratio and gain answer different questions. Ratio asks whether the trade is fair. Gain asks whether it is useful here.

Supply lines get first claim on merchants

Accepting an offer sends your merchants to the seller and back, so one trade occupies them for two legs. Two rules keep that from starving anything else.

  • Merchants to keep free reserves merchants that trading never touches. It ships at 2.
  • A village that sends on a live funding link does not trade at all. While supply is armed on its merchants the market job stands down there and leaves the whole fleet alone.

So trading happens in the villages supply is not already using. If you want a donor village to trade as well, pause its funding link or move the shipping to another village.

Per-village market health list showing last check, offers on the board, matches and free merchants

The Market health list is where you check this. The figure on the right of each row is free merchants against the total, and a village whose fleet is all out simply will not appear among the matches.

Try it before you switch it on

Check offers now reads the marketplace and prices everything without buying a thing. It works with the feature switched off, so you can tune the numbers first and turn it on once the preview looks the way you want.

  • The button at the top of the Market offers page checks every village, one at a time.
  • The same button inside a village checks that village on its own.
  • Change a setting and the preview re-sorts straight away. No re-check needed.

Once you are happy, switch Market offers on for the account and tick Trade on the market on the villages that should use it. Trades then show up under Recent trades with the ratio, the gain and who you bought from.

Why isn't it buying?

Open a village preview and read the Why not column. Every skipped offer names its reason.

  • Ratio too low means the raw trade fails Smallest ratio you'll accept.
  • Not worth enough here means the trade is fair but does not clear Minimum gain for this village. Usually the store you would be filling is already comfortable.
  • Only even swaps allowed here means your account is under 200 population or in beginner's protection.
  • Too far means the goods would arrive after Furthest offer.
  • Needs too many merchants means the offer is bigger than Merchants per trade allows.
  • Not enough merchants free means the reserve, or merchants already on the road, leaves nothing to send.
  • Below your keep amount means paying would dip under Keep in store, or under the crop reserve set on the Building settings.
  • Would not fit in store means Don't overfill caught goods that would spill on arrival.
  • Already trading with this player is normal. Vangrd takes at most one offer per seller per visit.

If the whole village is quiet instead of individual offers being skipped, check that it has a marketplace, that both the account switch and Trade on the market are on, and that it is not a donor on a live funding link. For the wider account setup, see Getting Started.
